Tooey
TOOEY is a large and handsome fluffy black and white male tuxedo kitty with a white face blaze, about 20 months old. He is active and playful, and very affectionate -- he's not a scaredy cat at all. He is good with being held and sitting in laps, and is very bonded to humans. Tooey was adopted as a kitten along with his sister Wunnie, and their adopter has now moved in with a relative who is extremely allergic to cats. He will need a patient and loving adopter who will make him feel safe and adored -- but who also understands that young kitties can have periods where they exhibit lots of crazy energy! His adoption fee is $75, which is strictly to help cover our costs. He has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (he is negative), neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed—plus you get a free vet exam. Tooey is in the cattery at Wags! Dog and Cat Emporium, 485 Coburg Road #G, Eugene OR 97401. For more information please call 541-225-4955 option 1 or send an email to adoptinfo@westcoastdogandcat.org. Hobi
Hobi has lots of good stories to tell you. He’s had lots of adventures in his 15 years. He's a charming senior kitty with a beautiful silver coat and a curious manner that makes it hard to believe this boy is really 15 years old. Don't be surprised when you see him hop up on to a table or your kitchen counter like a cat with much less life experience! He's spry and talkative and still likes to chase a string around the floor. Hobi lived his whole life, from the time he was a tiny kitten, with just one family until both his people suffered failing health and could no longer care for this boy. He's looking for a warm and loving person that will listen to his stories and cuddle up on the sofa. Hobi has been neutered, tested negative for FELV/FIV, is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, has been treated for fleas and worms and comes with a free vet visit. Hobi's adoption fee is $60 (adoption fees help us help another cat). Hobi is currently in foster. To meet Hobi or learn more about him, please call 541-225-4955 option 1 or send an email to adoptinfo@westcoastdogandcat.org.

Fast Eddie
Fast Eddie chose a home and hoped for love and food -- an abandoned cat, he walked right into his rescuer’s home. His rescuer fell for him immediately but unfortunately couldn’t keep him as her son had severe allergies. Fast Eddie is a handsome large gray tabby who looks like he has a lot of Maine Coon in his background. He is a gentle guy, who appreciates a soft bed and regular meals He previously was an indoor-outdoor cat, but he has adjusted well to living indoors, as long as he has a window to watch the world go by. Eddie likes to watch the world from his cat tree. He loves canned food. He is a little sensitive to overstimulation, and might nip at you if you pet him too much. But he will curl up near you, he will roll over and offer his belly, he will gaze up at you with adoring eyes, and he will thank you for your kindness and care. Fast Eddie tested positive for FIV but is very healthy. Cats with FIV can live healthy normal lives as indoor cats with good nutrition and care. FIV can only be passed to another cat through a deep bite wound. It cannot be passed to people or dogs. Fast Eddie has been neutered, tested negative for FELV, is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, has been treated for fleas and worms and comes with a free vet visit. Fast Eddie’s adoption fee is $60 (adoption fees help us help another cat). He is currently in foster. To meet Fast Eddie or learn more about him, please call 541-225-4955 option 1 or send an email to adoptinfo@westcoastdogandcat.org.

Arelle
ARELLE is a sweet and playful young black and gray tabby female teenager kitty with beautiful spots and stripes, and white fur in a tuxedo pattern. She is not quite 10 months old. She is an affectionate and gentle girl who loves to play….and she wants to play with you! Arelle will often stretch up to greet you by putting her paws gently on your knee with an eager and adoring expression on her face, so we suggest you wear a sturdy pair of jeans whenever possible. She will make sure that any box or bag left unattended is thoroughly inspected and put to good use. Arelle and her siblings were born to a neighborhood stray, and have been in foster care for a long while while getting over a harmless skin fungus. She gets along well with other cats, and while we don’t know yet about dogs, it is likely that with a slow and gentle introduction, she would be fine with a well behaved canine in the family. Arelle is just waiting for a family of her own to love and treasure her! ARELLE has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV, spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet visit. Her adoption fee is $100 ($185 for 2 teenagers), which is strictly to help cover our costs. She is currently in the cattery at Petsmart North, 2847 Chad Drive, Eugene OR 97401. Aileen
AILEEN is a cute and playful young brown tabby female teenager kitty with mackerel stripes and white fur in a tuxedo pattern. She’s not quite 10 months old. Boxes and feathers are her two favorites, but she’ll stalk anything that dares to come into your home. Hate spiders? Aileen will take care of that problem for you! Dust bunnies? She’ll make sure they don’t get out of hand. She’ll play with you for hours if you’ve got a feather or string on a stick. Since she’s always on the lookout for something, she is easily startled -- so you’ll want to let her know your hand is coming in for petting and love, and not something she needs to defend. Aileen and her siblings were born to a neighborhood stray, and have been in foster care for a long while while getting over a harmless skin fungus. It will take her some time to acclimate to her new environment, but once this stocky little tabby girl bonds with you, she’ll be wrapped around your heart for life. AILEEN has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV, spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet visit. Her adoption fee is $100, which is strictly to help cover our costs. She is currently in the cat room at Petsmart in South Eugene (28th and Willamette). ARLETTE is a beautiful young silver tabby female teenager kitty with white fur in a tuxedo pattern. She’s not quite 10 months old. If you have any velvet pillows and delicious treats that need to be put to use, Arlette can help you out. She is a lovely and feminine girl whose secret weapon is her soft, plush fur….it’s irresistible! If you have a gentle manner, Arlette will do you the honor of allowing you to stroke her. She enjoys perching up high and watching the world, so a nice cat tree or cat-friendly table would keep her entertained and happy. Arlette and her siblings were born to a neighborhood stray, and have been in foster care for a long while while getting over a harmless skin fungus. She can be shy at first, and doesn’t do well with busy, noisy environments, so a quiet home with gentle and loving people is what she needs! Adair
ADAIR is a sweet young male black and gray tabby teenager kitty with gorgeous spots and stripes, and white fur in a tuxedo pattern. He’s not quite 10 months old. Do you need a buddy to hang out with on the couch or maybe someone to keep your pillows and blankets safe? ADAIR might be the guy you’re looking for. He’s big, loveable and soft to the touch. Among his many talents are hammock lounging and squeezing into boxes that are just a little bit snug. If you have extra treats in danger of going to waste, Adair can help with that problem, too. Adair and his siblings were born to a neighborhood stray, and have been in foster care for a long time while getting over a harmless skin fungus. He gets along well with other cats, and should be OK with gentle older children. It is going to take him a bit of time to get comfortable in new surroundings, but if you are patient and chill you will be rewarded with the love and affection of a very special guy. Obie
OBIE is a handsome solid black cat male kitty with yellow eyes, about 6 years old. He is a VERY affectionate cat who absolutely loves spending time with his foster parents. He will purr loudly and give head bumps to show his approval while being petted. Obie was found inSpringfield as a stray, and had likely been living on his own for some time. Obie has tested positive for FIV (the feline immunodeficiency virus), which means that he must be an indoor-only kitty for his lifetime, but with some precautions to protect his immune system, he will likely lead a normal life. The virus can't be passed to dogs or to people, and only to other cats through a deep bite wound. He is a healthy boy, and we also performed a complete dental on him. Obie is initially shy with new people or surroundings, but it only takes him a few days to build trust and a sense of safety. He is a very gentle cat and would do well around children. He also really enjoys the company of other cats, and would do fine in a household with other mellow indoor-only kitties. (It is unknown how he is with dogs). He has been tested for feline leukemia (he is negative), neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed – plus you get a free vet visit. His adoption fee is $60, which is strictly to help cover our costs. Obie is currently at PETCO in Eugene (1169 Valley River Drive, just north of ValleyRiver Center). Tippy
TIPPY is a gorgeous and fluffy young brown tabby female kitty who also has tortoiseshell coloring in her fur (sometimes called a "torbie"). Like many cats, she wants to be in charge of her world, and prefers to decide for herself who her friends are and when she will accept being caressed. But once she's decided you are trustworthy and well-intentioned, she will purr, trill, and eagerly lean into your hand for pets. Tippy was living in a rough neighborhood, and was taken in by a kind-hearted resident who eventually surrendered her to a local vet when she lost her home. Because Tippy had to survive by her sharp wits and quick paws, abrupt movements still startle her defensive hiss-reflex. It will take a patient owner who is willing to be gentle and slow in approaching her and gaining her trust. Once that happens, Tippy will make a sweet and devoted lifetime companion. She doesn’t like other cats very much, and would do best as an only pet. She has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV, spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet visit. Her adoption fee is $75, which is strictly to help cover our costs. She is currently in the cat room at Petsmart in South Eugene (28th and Willamette). Cleo
Cleo wants to know, what's all the fuss about tortie cats and tortitude? She's is a very sweet cat and wants the world to know that torties can be loving and mellow. Cleo is an adult tortie (about 5 years old) without an ounce of tortitude. She is gentle, appreciates love and kindness, and wants nothing more than to curl up next to you on the sofa while you relax at the end of your busy day. She will purr and purr to show you how much she enjoys your love and attention. Cleo was rescued by a group of kindhearted neighbors. She had surgery for entropion (eyelashes turned inward) and has recovered beautifully with follow-up ointment and tender loving care in foster. She would do fine with gentle children. Unknown how she is with dogs. She could co-exist with a non-dominant cat. Cleo has tested positive for FIV (the feline immunodeficiency virus). However, it is likely that with a few precautions, she will lead a normal life. Her immune system can be protected by keeping her as an indoor-only kitty. The virus can't be passed to dogs or to people, and only to other cats through a deep bite wound. Cleo has been spayed, tested negative for FELV, is up to date on vaccinations and has been treated for worms and fleas. â??If you are looking for a loving tortie, Cleo could be the perfect match for you. Chico
Ever wondered who the sweetest cat in the world is? Quite possibly, it is Chico. Chico is a handsome flame-point Siamese mix and is around 9 years old. At 18 pounds, he is a gentle giant (his adopters need to help him lose around 5 pounds and get his boyish figure back so he can stay healthy). He has a cute little meow, more of a chirp, and will talk to you. He loves to be pet and will purr and purr. He will plop down on his side and you can even pet his tummy (it’s not a trap). He’ll cuddle up by you on the couch or bed. He loves people and attention. He would do well with older children. He has lived with both a cat and a dog but it was years ago. He’s an easy-going guy and should be OK with a mellow cat or cat-friendly dog with a slow introduction. Chico loves to play and loves the feather toy (exercise is great to help him lose weight too). His first owner loved him very much but had to give him up do to his failing health and need to go into a care facility. He really wanted Chico to find a home where he was loved. He told us Chico “is all a pet can be”. Chico found a home last July where he was very loved. Unfortunately, his adopter fell and after spending many months in the hospital with Chico being cared for by family members, she realized she couldn't care for him and asked us to find him a home where he could get all the attention he deserves. She said he was the nicest cat she had ever had. Chico is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, has tested negative for FELV and FIV, is microchipped and has been treated for fleas and dewormed and comes with a free vet visit. Chico's adoption fee is $60 (adoption fees help us help another cat). Chico is in foster. Bixby
BIXBY is an adorable little male short-haired black kitten, about 3 months old. Having been in two loving foster homes since he was born, he is 100% friendly with everyone, and thoroughly unafraid of anyone or anything. He will pounce on anything that moves (or might potentially move in the future), and is fond of attacking feet -- thick socks are recommended for the kitten stage. He will clean out the dustballs from under your couch, and will enthusiastically chase after sparkly pompoms (a favorite), tennis balls, baseballs, jingly cat toys, or….pretty much anything. Bixby gets along with anyone of any age. He is happy to jump on and try to engage older cats in any form of play (he is especially fond of attacking tails), regardless of their level of reciprocity. He hasn’t met any dogs yet, but given his disposition, he would likely get along with friendly canines quite well. When he is not attacking moving items, he is a blissfully content lap cat who loves and seeks out human affection. Like most active young kittens, Bixby needs to go to a home that has another playful young animal, or where someone is home alot to monitor him and play with him. BIXBY has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (he is negative), neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed – plus you get a free vet visit. Ariana
ARIANA is a beautiful young female kitty with sleek black fur and a cute white spot on her chest. This 3-year-old sweetheart is seeking affection and love. She is a cat who hates to be confined, and she is quite vocal (we call her "squeakers" because she talks so much). She is a little nervous about strange sounds or unfamiliar surroundings, and will sometimes hiss or growl -- but she is never aggressive (although she should not be in a home with young kids). She loves to play with string and balls, and she really enjoys sitting and looking out windows. Ariana was adopted from WCDC as a kitten, but was returned to us when her owner became financially unstable and was unable to care for her (or give her the attention that she so strongly desires). It took Ariana awhile to learn to trust her new family, but now she is very affectionate with her foster mom's teenagers, and sleeps with them every night. She will need a patient and cat-savvy adopter who will give her time to adjust -- but this young girl really wants to be a part of a family in a stable forever home! NOTE: ARIANA has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV, spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet visit. Her adoption fee is $75, which is strictly to help cover our costs. She is currently in foster care. River
SM River and Meadow are very sweet, shy kiddos that need someone patient enough to wait for their wonderful personalities to come out and shine! Meadow a beautiful solid black girl is the friendliest one, and likes being picked up and snuggled. She'll sit around with her tongue peeking out of her mouth, looking adorable. River, an adorable gray tabby, needs a little more time before she'll come out to be social, but she follows her sister's lead. It'll take a month or two before River will start coming up to you for attention, and some time after that before she'll let you pick her up, but once she trusts you, she'll be devoted to you and follow you around and meow for attention 🙂 They're not used to loud noises, so they may run and hide the first few times they hear something new. They have a little experience with a cat savvy dog, and they did well once they got used to her, so with time, they could get along with a canine sibling. They can both be bribed with treats once they've settled in to their new environment. They're energetic, both love to chase da bird toy, and any string will get their attention! River likes to chase toys when you throw them, and Meadow will run along just because her sister is running. If you have treats in your hands, they'll both gently bat at your fingers until you give them some.? Because River is very bonded to her sister, Meadow, we are offering them at a special adoption fee of $100 for the pair, sponsored by Main Street Mini Storage. These adorable girls are shy with new people and situations. The important thing will be to create a feeling of safety for her by letting her settle in one room of your home with everything she needs: food, water, toys and a litter box. Interact with her during this time so she gets used to you being a part of her new life. She will need toys and lots of time with you, but most of all she will need your patience and love to blossom to her full potential. Both Trixie and Meadow have tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV, have been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed—plus you get a free vet visit. Atticus
ATTICUS is a beautiful, solid gray 2-year-old male kitty whose attributes lead us to believe he might be a Russian Blue mix: he is alert, friendly, playful, energetic, intelligent, and has a beautiful, shiny, dense coat. When he is ready to be petted, he will nudge your hand to let you know. When it's time to play, he is happy to chase a piece of yarn around the house, pulled by one of his people; then when it's time for his humans to take a break, he is happy to play with the ball of yarn all on his own. He uses his litterbox religiously, prefers his wave-shaped scratching post to furniture, and would love a tall cat tree to indulge his desire to climb. He is curious and smart and gets along well with older kids. He is not good with being picked up, but will follow you around the house and monitor all of your activities. Atticus was abandoned at a local vet after his urethra became blocked with crystals, and the vet performed a life-saving surgery that cured him of the problem. He is now a healthy boy, and his only special requirement is that he stay on a prescription diet that reduces crystal formation. Atticus would definitely prefer to be an only cat, but he most likely could acclimate to a friendly and mellow dog. His adoption fee is $75, which is strictly to help cover our costs. He is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, tested negative for FIV/FELV, microchipped, deflead and dewormed and comes with a free vet visit. He is currently in foster care. Miss Squeaky P
MISS SQUEAKY P (named because of her adorable squeak) is a gorgeous medium-haired tortoiseshell kitty with a cute white chin. She is about 6 to 7 years old. When she was rescued and came to her foster home, she was malnourished and suffering from flea dermatitis. After receiving veterinary care and several months of TLC, everything has turned around for her. She has blossomed into a very lovely and sweet girl, and while her skin may always need a little attention (we occasionally give her a few days of oral steroids), she now has a beautiful coat instead of the patchy and scabby skin she came in with! She is an adorable and affectionate companion, and is also very playful. Miss Squeaky P has lots of love to give and is very pleasant to hang out with, never needing too much attention, but she happily accepts it when given. She likes being brushed, adores catnip, her Neko Fly and the red laser light, and will also curl up on your lap and sleep with you at night. She gets along with other easy-going cats after a period of introduction, and she might do okay with a friendly dog -- but she would dearly love to be the only pet. She has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (she is negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed - plus you get a free vet visit. Miss Squeaky P's adoption fee is $75. She is currently living in a loving foster home where she can be easily visited. For more information please call 541-225-4955 option 1 or send an email to adoptinfo@westcoastdogandcat.org.

She adores petting from individuals she trusts, and sometimes she will reach out a gentle paw to bat at your hand when you stop petting her, to say “more please!” Zuri loves to bat small kitty toys across the floor, but since she will sometimes put new things with her mouth, it is important that she not be given anything chewable. Zuri gets along with calm, cat-friendly dogs, and would probably be okay with gentle, cat-savy kids age 12 or older. After a slow introduction, she got along well with the 2 other cats in her foster home. Zuri would do best in a calm home, where she can warm up to her surroundings at her own pace. A veterinarian called WCDC when Zuri’s owner brought her in to euthanize her because she had been living/hiding in their closet for the 2 years they had her. With patience and gentleness, Zuri has slowly learned that her home can feel safe, and has become more confident in exploring her home instead of hiding in a closet. She is now looking for a forever home that can provide her with the love and patience she needs to continue to blossom. ZURI has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (she is negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed – plus you get a free vet visit. Her adoption fee is $75, which is strictly to help cover our costs. She is currently in foster care. Cuddles
CUDDLES is a beautiful and sweet short-haired black and gray tabby female kitty about 12 years old. She was surrendered by her people when they moved out of state and couldn’t take her with them. It took her some time to adjust to her foster home -- she was very scared at first -- but with a little patience and TLC, she has proved to be a friendly girl who enjoys gentle petting and especially chin scratches. She’ll be happiest in a quiet home with lots of low spots for her to hang out and nap in . Cuddles has been thoroughly checked out by a vet, and other than some minor arthritis in her hips, she is in excellent health. Once she has bonded to you, she loves to lay on your chest, legs or back, especially in bed at night, but not necessarily on your lap. She may give you an appreciative lick during petting or knead you with soft paws. She enjoys DaBird wire toy for play when she’s not asking for ear rubs. She prefers you don’t touch her feet too much, but once she trusts you, she is good with being brushed. Cuddles is currently in foster care and would love to meet you for a proper introduction. NOTE: CUDDLES' adoption fee is $60, to help cover our costs. She has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV, neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet visit. Boots
BOOTS is a gorgeous long-haired tuxedo cat who is about 10 years old with the most adorable white mustache and spot on his nose. He is DECLAWED on his front paws, thus he must be an indoor-only cat (which he has been his whole life). He is a gentle and well-behaved guy who is very quiet and has a soft purr. His owner went into a nursing home, and Boots had been with her ever since he was a kitten -- thus it took him several weeks to acclimate to his new foster home. He can be quite playful at times, and wants you to be involved. Boots likes to follow you around and be right next to you, but he doesn’t like to be touched too much and he gets very anxious when being picked up. Learning to respect his boundaries with patience and kindness will reward you with his trust and love. He’s good at communicating and will sleep by your feet. Boots needs to be an only cat, and in a home with no young kids. He will make a wonderful kitty for a quiet person or couple looking for a delightful and loving companion. H e has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (he is negative), neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet visit. Boots adoption fee is $60. He is currently in foster care; For more information please call 541-225-4955 option 1 or send an email to adoptinfo@westcoastdogandcat.org.

Ta'nai
TA' NAI is a beautiful and sweet black and white tuxedo female adult kitty. One vet estimated her age at 3 years old and another vet at 6 years old, but we believe her to be closer to 3. She was found homeless and pregnant, and subsequently had her babies after she was rescued. Her kittens grew up and were adopted, and Ta'nai has been living in a loving foster home learning to trust humans. She loves head pets and chin scritches, but is not a "needy" girl -- she would be the perfect kitty companion for someone who works alot. Her favorite toys are a laser light and her stuffed ostrich, and she goes completely silly for cat nip. She would prefer a quiet household, without noisy kids. She does well with other kitties after a proper introduction, and might be OK with a respectful dog. She has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (she is negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed – plus you get a free vet visit. Ta'nai is currently in foster care. Ta'nai's adoption fee is $75. To meet her or for more info, call Beth at (541) 255-9296.

Nora
NORA is a sweet young adult female kitty with beautiful, glossy black fur. She is about 3 years old. She was rescued as a teenager and went to live in a loving WCDC foster home. She was very shy at first, but she has learned that humans have gentle hands, bring food and toys, and give her gentle pets. She enjoys playtime with feather-on-a-stick and fuzzy toys that she can bat at and "capture". Nora was adopted a few months ago, and just came back to WCDC because her adopter had to suddenly move out of her living situation. This poor kitty is ready for a stable forever home! She will need a quiet household and an adopter who is patient and gentle -- but once she gets to know her new people, they will be rewarded with a sweet and loving lap cuddler who is full of purrs! Nora is curious about new places, but she likes to start out with a safe spot where she can observe her world, then work her way into her new surroundings. Nora might do best as the only cat, although she does seem to do OK with other mellow kitties who don't push her around. She has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV, spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet visit. Nora's adoption fee is $75. Nora is currently in foster care. To meet her or f or more information please call 541-225-4955 option 1 or send an email to adoptinfo@westcoastdogandcat.org.

Foster Parents Needed
[PLEASE NOTE THAT THESE ARE ALL PICTURES OF CATS THAT ARE ALREADY IN FOSTER CARE] West Coast fosters give their kitties lots of TLC and attention. Because of that, we have very well socialized cats that are readily adopted. BUT, we have reached capacity with our fosters. We need more fosters to help fulfill our mission of helping rescue special needs animals. Fosters are provided with all the food, bedding and litter the cat needs. We also pay all their medical expenses. Your part is to give them love and attention and how hard can that be? This is the perfect opportunity to have a pet without a life time commitment. Fostering lasts anywhere from one week to several months and YOU get to choose whether you foster bottle babies, kittens or adult cats AND how many. If you live in the Eugene/Springfield, Oregon area and have love to spare for these kitties, please call 541-225-4955.
