Francine and Toby
FRANCINE and TOBY are a beautiful brother and sister pair of tabby tuxedo teenager kitties about 10 months old. They were found abandoned in a park in Eugene last summer, and have been living in a loving foster home ever since, learning how to be house cats. FRANCINE (right in picture) is quiet and curious, and once she is comfortable with you, she will own your lap. She loves when you sit on the floor with her, and will head bump your hand. TOBY (left in picture) is a bit shyer and is cautious of new people; he needs his sister Francine to bolster his confidence. Once he trusts you, he will happily sit in your lap. These two siblings enjoy chasing each other around the house, and love their cat toys and their tall cat tree where they can view the outside world. They have perfect litterbox manners, and will eat both kibble and canned food. Francine and Toby would do best in a quiet, calm household, without active young kids. They are curious about other cats, and would do fine with other friendly felines after a short introduction. We do not know how they would be with dogs. Because they are so bonded to each other, we are offering them at a special price of $100 for the pair, sponsored by their loving foster mom. Both cats have been been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (they are is negative), neutered/spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed—plus you get a free vet visit. You can meet Francine and Toby at Wags! Dog and Cat Emporium, 485 Coburg Road (#G) in Eugene (open daily 9 to 7). For more information please call 541-225-4955 option 1 or send an email to adoptinfo@westcoastdogandcat.org.

Lancelot
LANCELOT is a large and very handsome male "cow kitty" (white fur with black spots), about 8 to 10 yrs old. He was abandoned by his original owners when they moved away, and then was taken in by a neighboring family with many children. One of the kids turned out to be allergic, so Lance got put outside in the freezing cold; this sweet and loyal guy would sit patiently on the front porch waiting to go back in, but he never did. He is a mellow, affectionate boy who loves to purr and head butt -- and he is a great lap cat! He makes the sweetest squeaky sound when he talks to you, and loves playing with strings and sitting in the sun. He is good with kids, and is fine with other cats as long as they are mellow. However, he is definitely afraid of dogs. Since being in foster care, Lancelot has been perfectly happy to be an indoor-only kitty, but he could conceivably be an indoor-outdoor cat if his adopter has a VERY safe outdoor environment. Lancelot is hoping that he will be loved and appreciated for the rest of his life in a stable forever home. He has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (he is negative), neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed – plus you get a free vet visit. His adoption fee is $60, which is strictly to help cover our costs. He is currently in the cat room at Petsmart in South Eugene (28th and Willamette). Lucy
LUCY is a 3 ½ year old female tortoiseshell puffball. Her luxurious multi-colored fur offsets her vivid green eyes. She was rescued as a kitten from a feral colony and still has a touch of wildness in her. She will need to have a quiet, safe place to hide as she builds confidence in her new home. She is very curious about people and, once comfortable, will enjoy following you about the house and being part of the action. She enjoys her catnip toys, loves the bird on a stick and laser pointers. She has learned the lap is a great place to sit contently with you for attention. In time, she may be more willing to be picked up, but now prefers it to be her own idea first. She has a lot to say and also a great purr. She is afraid of other cats and may be happiest as a one and only cat. With love and care, Lucy will be a wonderful cuddlebug. Lucy has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV, neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet visit. Lucy’s adoption fee is $75. Miss Squeaky P
MISS SQUEAKY P (named because of her adorable squeak) is a gorgeous medium-haired tortoiseshell kitty with a cute white chin. She is about 6 to 7 years old. When she was rescued and came to her foster home, she was malnourished and suffering from flea dermatitis. After receiving veterinary care and several months of TLC, everything has turned around for her. She has blossomed into a very lovely and sweet girl, and while her skin may always need a little attention (we occasionally give her a few days of oral steroids), she now has a beautiful coat instead of the patchy and scabby skin she came in with! She is an adorable and affectionate companion, and is also very playful. Miss Squeaky P has lots of love to give and is very pleasant to hang out with, never needing too much attention, but she happily accepts it when given. She likes being brushed, adores catnip, her Neko Fly and the red laser light, and will also curl up on your lap and sleep with you at night. She gets along with other easy-going cats after a period of introduction, and she might do okay with a friendly dog -- but she would dearly love to be the only pet. She has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (she is negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed - plus you get a free vet visit. Miss Squeaky P's adoption fee is $75. She is currently living in a loving foster home where she can be easily visited. For more information please call 541-225-4955 option 1 or send an email to adoptinfo@westcoastdogandcat.org.

Wednesday
WEDNESDAY is a friendly and outgoing female adult kitty with sleek black fur, about 8 years old. She was brought to a local vet by a kind-hearted rescuer, underweight and in need of some TLC. In her loving WCDC foster home, she has put on weight and blossomed into a funny, lively, inquisitive kitty. She is a petite girl, but she packs a lot of personality and affection into a small body. She loves to hop onto your back and ride on your shoulder. She is a great "helper" when you are working at the computer. She loves her turboscratcher toy, likes climbing up on cat trees or onto shelves, and when she is really content, she will purr and drool to express her happiness. Wednesday recently had surgery to remove benign polyps from her ears, and she has recovered beautifully. She is a little scared of dogs, but would probably be OK with cat-savvy kids. She wants to actively engage with other cats, but if they are not accepting of her overtures, she gets upset. This sweet girl just wants a stable forever home where someone will love and treasure her. WEDNESDAY has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (she is negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed – plus you get a free vet visit. Her adoption fee is $60, which is strictly to help cover our costs. She is currently in the cat room at Petsmart on Coburg Road (across from Costco). Sequoia
SEQUOIA is a very handsome and special short-haired 9-year-old male kitty who has brown and gray tabby fur with white in a tuxedo pattern. His beloved human regretfully had to give up Sequoia; he was very much loved, and both human and cat were traumatized by the parting. He is affectionate and loving once he gets settled in to his new surroundings and feels safe. He is not great with being picked up (although he will tolerate it), but he is a snuggler and his previous owner describes him as a nurturing caregiver who "has a talent for curling up against you when you're sick." Sequoia is positive for FIV (the feline immunodeficiency virus), which means that he must be an indoor-only kitty for his lifetime, but with some precautions to protect his immune system, he will likely lead a normal life. The virus can't be passed to dogs or to people, and only to other cats through a deep bite wound. Sequoia is tolerant of other kitties if they are friendly, but he would be safest as the only kitty. He would probably be OK with older, cat-savvy children. He loves being outside, so possibly his new home can provide a "catio" or a yard with specialized cat netting installed on the fence to allow him a safe outdoor experience. Sequoia will do best in a calm, quiet environment. This sweet boy is so deserving of a wonderful, stable forever home! Sequoia has been tested for feline leukemia (he is negative), neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed – plus you get a free vet visit. His adoption fee is $60, which is strictly to help cover our costs. You can visit Sequoia at Petco across from Valley River Center in Eugene. Cuddles
CUDDLES is a beautiful and sweet short-haired black and gray tabby female kitty about 12 years old. She was surrendered by her people when they moved out of state and couldn’t take her with them. It took her some time to adjust to her foster home -- she was very scared at first -- but with a little patience and TLC, she has proved to be a friendly girl who enjoys gentle petting and especially chin scratches. She’ll be happiest in a quiet home with lots of low spots for her to hang out and nap in . Cuddles has been thoroughly checked out by a vet, and other than some minor arthritis in her hips, she is in excellent health. Once she has bonded to you, she loves to lay on your chest, legs or back, especially in bed at night, but not necessarily on your lap. She may give you an appreciative lick during petting or knead you with soft paws. She enjoys DaBird wire toy for play when she’s not asking for ear rubs. She prefers you don’t touch her feet too much, but once she trusts you, she is good with being brushed. Cuddles is currently in foster care and would love to meet you for a proper introduction. NOTE: CUDDLES' adoption fee is $60, to help cover our costs. She has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV, neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet visit. EMMA is a darling little female black and brown striped tuxedo tabby cat with a white bib and paws. She is very much a lady cat who is gentle and well-mannered domestic short hair. Emma is a little shy at first in new surroundings, but she quickly adapted to her foster home and became very affectionate. Emma and her sisters Amanda and Rachel were evicted from a hoarder’s home when the husband threatened to kill the cats. She is a sweet cat in search of a special forever home where she can give her unlimited love. Having been raised with her siblings, she is most comfortable with other cat buddies and the attention of her person(s). Her age is estimated at 6+ years. She has lived with other cats and dogs, and would likely do well with older, cat-savvy children. NOTE: EMMA has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV, spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet visit. Emma's adoption fee is $75. Boots
BOOTS is a gorgeous long-haired tuxedo cat who is about 10 years old with the most adorable white mustache and spot on his nose. He is DECLAWED on his front paws, thus he must be an indoor-only cat (which he has been his whole life). He is a gentle and well-behaved guy who is very quiet and has a soft purr. His owner went into a nursing home, and Boots had been with her ever since he was a kitten -- thus it took him several weeks to acclimate to his new foster home. He can be quite playful at times, and wants you to be involved. Boots likes to follow you around and be right next to you, but he doesn’t like to be touched too much and he gets very anxious when being picked up. Learning to respect his boundaries with patience and kindness will reward you with his trust and love. He’s good at communicating and will sleep by your feet. Boots needs to be an only cat, and in a home with no young kids. He will make a wonderful kitty for a quiet person or couple looking for a delightful and loving companion. H e has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (he is negative), neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet visit. Boots adoption fee is $60. Ta'nai
TA' NAI is a beautiful and sweet black and white tuxedo female adult kitty. One vet estimated her age at 3 years old and another vet at 6 years old, but we believe her to be closer to 3. She was found homeless and pregnant, and subsequently had her babies after she was rescued. Her kittens grew up and were adopted, and Ta'nai has been living in a loving foster home learning to trust humans. She loves head pets and chin scritches, but is not a "needy" girl -- she would be the perfect kitty companion for someone who works alot. Her favorite toys are a laser light and her stuffed ostrich, and she goes completely silly for cat nip. She would prefer a quiet household, without noisy kids. She does well with other kitties after a proper introduction, and might be OK with a respectful dog. She has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (she is negative), spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed – plus you get a free vet visit. Ta'nai is currently in foster care. Nora
NORA is a sweet young adult female kitty with beautiful, glossy black fur. She is about 3 years old. She was rescued as a teenager and went to live in a loving WCDC foster home. She was very shy at first, but she has learned that humans have gentle hands, bring food and toys, and give her gentle pets. She enjoys playtime with feather-on-a-stick and fuzzy toys that she can bat at and "capture". Nora was adopted a few months ago, and just came back to WCDC because her adopter had to suddenly move out of her living situation. This poor kitty is ready for a stable forever home! She will need a quiet household and an adopter who is patient and gentle -- but once she gets to know her new people, they will be rewarded with a sweet and loving lap cuddler who is full of purrs! Nora is curious about new places, but she likes to start out with a safe spot where she can observe her world, then work her way into her new surroundings. Nora might do best as the only cat, although she does seem to do OK with other mellow kitties who don't push her around. She has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV, spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed, plus you get a free vet visit. Nora's adoption fee is $75. Nora is currently in foster care. Meadow
Meadow and River are very sweet, shy kiddos that need someone patient enough to wait for their wonderful personalities to come out and shine! Meadow a beautiful solid black girl is the friendliest one, and likes being picked up and snuggled. She'll sit around with her tongue peeking out of her mouth, looking adorable. River, an adorable gray tabby, needs a little more time before she'll come out to be social, but she follows her sister's lead. It'll take a month or two before River will start coming up to you for attention, and some time after that before she'll let you pick her up, but once she trusts you, she'll be devoted to you and follow you around and meow for attention 🙂 They're not used to loud noises, so they may run and hide the first few times they hear something new. They have a little experience with a cat savvy dog, and they did well once they got used to her, so with time, they could get along with a canine sibling. They can both be bribed with treats once they've settled in to their new environment. They're energetic, both love to chase da bird toy, and any string will get their attention! River likes to chase toys when you throw them, and Meadow will run along just because her sister is running. If you have treats in your hands, they'll both gently bat at your fingers until you give them some.? Because River is very bonded to her sister, Meadow, we are offering them at a special adoption fee of $100 for the pair, sponsored by Main Street Mini Storage. These adorable girls are shy with new people and situations. The important thing will be to create a feeling of safety for her by letting her settle in one room of your home with everything she needs: food, water, toys and a litter box. Interact with her during this time so she gets used to you being a part of her new life. She will need toys and lots of time with you, but most of all she will need your patience and love to blossom to her full potential. Both Trixie and Meadow have tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV, have been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed—plus you get a free vet visit. Atticus
ATTICUS is a beautiful, solid gray 18-month-old male kitty whose attributes lead us to believe he might be a Russian Blue mix: he is alert, affectionate, playful, energetic, intelligent, and has a beautiful, shiny, dense coat. One pet is never quite enough for this boy—he will nudge your hand for more. When it's time to play, he is happy to chase a red piece of yarn around the house, pulled by one of his people; then when it's time for his humans to take a break, he is happy to play with the ball of yarn all on his own. At night he likes to snuggle and curl up at the foot of the bed. He uses his litter box religiously, prefers his wave-shaped scratching post to furniture, and would love a tall cat tree to indulge his desire to climb. He is curious and smart and gets along well with kids. He has been lovingly cared for in a foster home with two adults and an 8-yr-old girl; hi s foster family wanted to keep him, but discovered that their daughter is highly allergic to cats. Atticus was abandoned at a local vet after his urethra became blocked with crystals, and the vet performed a life-saving surgery that cured him of the problem. He is now a healthy boy, and his only special requirement is that he stay on a diet that reduces crystal formation (thus he cannot share food in a multi-cat household). His adoption fee is $75, which is strictly to help cover our costs. He is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, tested negative for FIV/FELV, microchipped, deflead and dewormed and comes with a free vet visit. He is currently in foster care. Barker
BARKER is a fluffy, adorable young male kitty who is white with cute black patches on his head and back (sometimes called a “cow kitty”), and a magnificent white mane and black tail. He is about 18 months old. He was found abandoned inside a house with 15 other cats, and went to live in a loving foster facility. He is a still a little afraid of people, but once trust is established with his “human”, he is a very lovey boy; however, he is the type of cat who will never be good with strangers. Barker is very high energy and playful, and really enjoys balls and stuffed mice. He would do best in a home with another playful young animal. He was an indoor-outdoor kitty before being rescued, so he will either need to continue being an indoor-outdoor cat where there is a SAFE outdoor environment, or he will have to be carefully monitored (and perhaps have another playful animal indoors to keep him stimulated). Barker’s adoption fee is $75, which is strictly to help cover our costs. He has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (he is negative), neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed—plus you get a free vet visit. Barker is currently in foster care. Foster Parents Needed
[PLEASE NOTE THAT THESE ARE ALL PICTURES OF CATS THAT ARE ALREADY IN FOSTER CARE] West Coast fosters give their kitties lots of TLC and attention. Because of that, we have very well socialized cats that are readily adopted. BUT, we have reached capacity with our fosters. We need more fosters to help fulfill our mission of helping rescue special needs animals. Fosters are provided with all the food, bedding and litter the cat needs. We also pay all their medical expenses. Your part is to give them love and attention and how hard can that be? This is the perfect opportunity to have a pet without a life time commitment. Fostering lasts anywhere from one week to several months and YOU get to choose whether you foster bottle babies, kittens or adult cats AND how many. If you live in the Eugene/Springfield, Oregon area and have love to spare for these kitties, please call 541-225-4955.
